Brussels Sprouts With Lemon And Mustard Sauce

Brussel sprouts in a sauce made from butter, coarse mustard, lemon juice and lemon zest.
Ingredients -
1 pound Brussels Sprouts, rinsed, stems trimmed off
2 teaspoons Butter
1 1/2 teaspoons Coarse Mustard
1 tablespoon Fresh Lemon Juice
zest of 1 Fresh Lemon
 
Preparation:

1. Cut an "X" into base of each Brussel sprout.

2. Steam sprouts for 7-10 minutes over boiling water. Do not overcook. Drain well in colander.

3. Melt butter in saucepan. Stir in coarse mustard and fresh lemon juice.

4. Toss sprouts with sauce.

5. Serve hot. Top with grated lemon zest.

Do not be tempted to use an imitation lemon zest in this recipe, as the flavor simply does not equal that of fresh.
